UCL Boat Club is one of the oldest, largest and most successful sports clubs at UCL. We are inviting anyone who has wanted try rowing or discover a new post that they’ve never even considered before. This can be your opportunity to begin enjoying the total-body sport that is rowing. Alongside engaging most muscle groups, rowing is the sport for aerobic conditioning and increasing general fitness

Especially this year when we are expected to spend a lot of time indoors, working from home and away from campus, this will be an opportunity to meet new friends, maintain fitness, health and wellbeing and pick up a new skill!

Our robust novice program, we see athletes progress onto senior level after a year, taking part in variety of domestic and international races. Throughout the year, we take part in many races and events across the country including BUCS events and prestigious rowing events such as Henley Royal and Henley Women’s  Regattas to compete against the best university crews in the world. We have travelled even further afield to races in Switzerland and China.

As a novice rower, we will teach you how to row from scratch from the help of our head novice coach, seniors and alumni rowers. Alongside this, you will have opportunity to race and take part in varsity and represent TeamUCL. With our ever growing fleet of high quality boats, from racing singles all the way up to full olympic class eights, we can ensure that we can cater for all and have the flexibility to support all members during the uncertain year ahead.

If you are interested please email Elli (Novice Women’s Captain) at uclbcnovicewomen@gmail.com or Johann (Novice Men’s Captain) at uclbcnovicemen@gmail.com

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
