Help to inspire young people at key transition points in their education!

Mentoring charity Brightside are recruiting student mentors for year 8 and year 12 pupils at The UCL Academy school.

As a mentor you will be supported to use your own knowledge and experience as a UCL student to be an inspiring role model, in person and online - supporting pupils to raise their aspirations, grow in confidence, develop skills, and make confident and informed decision about their futures!

This project is an amazing opportunity to work directly with young people, and to develop mentoring experience and communication skills!

UCL student mentors use their own knowledge and experience to work with groups of Year 8 and Year 12 students at the UCL Academy, supporting them at key transition points in their journey through education. Brightside supports mentors to be inspiring role models, enabling young people to develop skills, grow in knowledge and awareness of their future options, and supporting them to make confident and informed decisions about their futures.

Location: 
UCL Academy, NW3. Nearest tube station Swiss Cottage (Jubilee Line).

Commitment - more information: 
Volunteers need to be available on the following dates. All of the below (in person): • Wednesday 5th February, 2- 5pm • Wednesday 12th February, 2- 5pm • Wednesday 4th March, 2- 5pm • Wednesday 11th March, 2- 5pm Flexible online mentoring (remote) - Approx. 1 hour per week, February – mid-April 2020
