Opportunity: Object Handling Volunteer

Opportunity description: 

Object Handling volunteers help bring the museum’s collection to life, enabling visitors to discover the museum through touching real objects, and exploring themes in the galleries. The role offers the chance to learn about our collection alongside like-minded individuals and engage with a broad audience from novice to enthusiast, and families to senior citizens. You’ll demonstrate how some of our objects work and inspire visitor’s curiosity by giving them the chance to handle objects themselves.

Location: 
London Transport Museum, Covent Garden or the Museum Depot, with the potential to attend external events in the future at other locations.

Commitment - more information: 
Volunteering is offered during school holidays throughout the year, and ad hoc for special events. Volunteer hours run from approximately 10:30 - 16:00 for most sessions but may differ dependent on the event. We ask for a commitment of 3 days per school holiday, but we can be flexible. You must be able to attend: Informal group interview on Wednesday 11 December at 16:00-17:00 Induction and training, Tuesday 17 December at 14:00-17:00
