Opportunity: Learning through Artefacts Volunteer

Commitment:
Regular volunteering
Commitment - more information:
Minimum commitment 1 hour per week. Availability in Term 3 is preferred.
Opportunity description:

Volunteers will have the opportunity to see the special collections of artefacts in the Archaeological and Ethnographical collections at UCL that are not normally on display. In term 2 volunteers will be doing some research about the collections at UCL and plan the volunteer sessions together. Volunteers need to have a passion for culture, anthropology and the ancient world. You will communicate with staff in the Anthropology and Archaeology department to organise the individual sessions (in teams) and select artefacts for the theme in advance. An example of a session theme can be the ‘Classical Greek World’ and volunteers will plan the relevant activities with help from a member of staff and the project leader. From reading week onwards, volunteers will lead the session where children participate in object handling on UCL campus.

Location:
