About the organisation

Target Ovarian Cancer

One in 50 women will develop ovarian cancer in their lifetime and ovarian cancer faces chronic underfunding compared with other cancers. Awareness is low, both among women and GPs, with two thirds of women diagnosed once the cancer has already spread. At Target Ovarian Cancer we work to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer. We’re the only charity fighting ovarian cancer on all three of these fronts, across all four nations of the UK.

Target Ovarian Cancer offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities with our fundraising team. Whether you can only commit to a one-off event or want to help us with something more long-term, your time will allow us to support more women living with ovarian cancer. We have opportunity for office-based volunteers to support the community fundraising team in the successful delivery of our flagship campaign, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month taking place March. We also have regular opportunities to help us with station collections around London, which is a great way to make a couple of free hours really count. Just two hours of your time could pay for half a day of medical research into new treatments for ovarian cancer. You could also be helping out at one of our fundraising events, such as The Ovarian Cancer Walk or helping to deliver campaigns including Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and November Nights.

Application deadline:
Wednesday, 25 September 2019

Help raise funds and awareness for Target Ovarian Cancer. Just two hours of your time could raise enough to pay for half a day of medical research into new treatments for ovarian cancer.

Role Aim:

We are looking for volunteers to join us as bucket collectors at one of our station collections.

We will be holding a bucket collection at Canary Wharf underground station on Wednesday 25th September. We’ll have two shifts and you can pick which of these you would prefer to attend. We provide you with a bucket and a Target Ovarian Cancer t-shirt, so you all you need to bring along is a form of ID.

So, if you’re friendly, confident, and want to make a difference, get in touch and join Team Target!
