About the organisation

Kingsgate Community Centre

Kingsgate Community Association is a registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. It was initially set up in 1982 by a group of local people who wished to establish a community centre to provide low-cost activities to people who would not otherwise be able to access them. We currently offer around thirty -five different services and activities. We are able to do this through the receipt of an annual grant from the London Borough of Camden, fundraising activities through various Trusts and Foundations, promotion of performing arts events and activities, hiring out of centre spaces for functions and events and through public donations. Activities and events above are suitable for all demographics and communities particularly toddlers, children and young people, the elderly and the thirtysomething.

Activities include, arts and crafts classes (painting, basketry, printing, pottery, dressmaking, three styles of yoga, ballet and martial arts for children and adults, advice and support, IT training, repairing small electrical goods, forestry/outward bound and healthy eating and ESOL.

KCC is undergoing significant organisational and cultural change, planning to successfully negotiate the challenges of meeting the increasingly diverse needs and demands of our communities.
