English Heritage - Kenwood House

English Heritage champions our historic places and advises the Government and others to help today’s generation get the best out of our heritage and ensure that it is protected for future generations.

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic volunteers aged 16-21 to assist English Heritage in creating a ‘Youth Brand’ to use across the three year and work with the Project Manager to create a ‘big event’ at the end of the year.

You will have the chance to shape a national project, develop and share creative and digital skills, gain great experience to include in your CV and obtain Training and Volunteering Certificates to show to employers and education providers.

Role Aim: 

Shout Out Loud aims to give young people a voice in stories and ideas of the past, by placing them at the very heart of the project.


Work with the Project Manager to create a ‘big event’ at the end of the year

Test and trial new digital platforms for young people

Assist English Heritage in creating a ‘Youth Brand’ to use across the three year project

Develop our communication plan including social media

Look at new ways to get young people involved in Shout Out Loud

Support and contribute to the leadership of the project

Trial and support the delivery of Shout Out Loud activities

Be part of the Ideas Factory, a panel of English Heritage experts and Consortium partners, planning the next year of Shout Out Loud.

Skills needed: 

*A passion for social action, and making a difference

*An interest in heritage through places, objects, people and stories

* An interest in supporting their peers and younger people to reach their potential

* Experience of being part of a team

* Creativity and willingness to share ideas


*A weekend residential including leadership training

*Other training weekends around specific pieces of work you may choose to take part in i.e. evaluations, recruitment & selection, etc
