About the organisation

Royal Free Charity

The vision of the charity is that every patient’s experience is the best it can be. From the initial referral from the GP to discharge from hospital we aim to make the journey as supportive and comfortable as possible. Our volunteers offer a friendly smile, a cup of tea, something from the shop trolley, a library book, an errand done or a good chat to help them on their way. Everyone’s needs are different and there are volunteering opportunities for all, including non-clinical roles.

Cheerful volunteers needed to work with another volunteer to take the shop trolley to the wards, selling items from the WH Smith shop trolley to patients, staff and visitors. Need to be reliable, friendly, confident with handling small change and happy to walk around a busy hospital. Trolley leaves at 930 am and is back for 12 noon.
