We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our new children’s art group. Volunteers will take part in activities, helping children to learn a wide range of creative skills from printing to drama. The group takes place on Tybalds Estate in the heart of Holborn, and is a great way to get to know the local community whilst having fun!

After School Club Volunteer

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we welcome around 10 local primary aged children for ‘After School Club’ where they can do arts and crafts activities, cooking, games, and play in a great indoor and outdoor space. The club encourages and develops children’s social and independent skills. Volunteers will make the children feel welcome and have a good time!

We will offer you the opportunity to join us for an installation at least 5 times each year. Neighbourhood Investment Manager for North London

Student researcher needed to support a national housing association in gathering knowledge and greater understanding, through extensive data research, of the correlation of school exclusion rates with the level of overall poverty within local neighbourhoods where CHG has stock.

The outcome of research will influence funding allocation aimed at supporting families whose children are at risk of exclusion in school, through a yet to be agreed mechanism such as family therapy or supporting schools to offer increased level of pastoral care.

World Stories Sound Recording Facilitator

World Stories is a free, electronic library of stories from around the world, created by KidsOut charity in an attempt to create a teaching resource that also helps disadvantaged students. The website consists of over 100 stories in English and a native language. Our structured mentoring programme supports 8-11 year olds, based in Camden, at weekends with their social and emotional development before they transition into secondary school.

As a mentor, you will hold weekly one on one sessions of 1-3 hours. You will be building confidence, supporting resilience and helping your matched child to manage feelings through a series of fun and positive experiences and activities.

Play and Chat Volunteer – Bromley / Chigwell

During afternoons of diagnostic assessments, parents/carers are given feedback and a possible diagnosis of child/young person. Whilst our clinicians spend time with the parents/carers the child/young person (CYP) is left alone to play – we need to make sure that the child/young person is happy and safe.

This is an important role, as well as spending time talking and/ or playing with a CYP, parents will be relaxed knowing that their CYP is being looked after during this time.

ACS is a non-profit organisation. Our organisation provides inclusive services to local adults, children and families living on low incomes, and support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds’ to achieve and develop new skills.
