Coffee Morning Volunteer

Centra Care & Support are looking for volunteers to lead fun and engaging activities for service users living in sheltered accommodation. Perhaps you have prepared events, come from a hospitality background, or you may be new to volunteering entirely. From as little as 1 hour per week, we have different volunteering opportunities across London such as Coffee Morning Volunteering, with the aim of providing an environment where vulnerable adult service users feel valued.

Starfish Community Fundraising and Events Internship

Starfish Greathearts Foundation is an international development charity aiming to bring life, hope and opportunity to children in southern Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable through HIV/AIDS.

Book Group Volunteer (for Older People)

All volunteers receive expenses, thorough training, shadowing opportunities, and DBS checks.

Volunteer for the Campaign Campus initiative

Organisation: 

ASPIeRATIONS is an advocate group for people with Asperger Syndrome (AS) in the corporate world. Volunteers will work across every aspect of our social enterprise - getting involved with marketing, development, PR, social media, fundraising and more! You will be in constant contact with a wide range of people to spread awareness about neurodiversity and to dispel misconceptions about neuro-diverse traits. You will be primarily be involved in our Campaign Campus initiative which aims to head-hunt individuals with AS at universities.

Communications Volunteers

- Assisting with facebook live and similar live online events

- Designing and editing a wide range of charity materials.

Computer Drop-In Support

Organisation: 

Do you like the idea of sharing your knowledge in using computers, including accessing the internet and email? Our Computer Drop-in aimed at offering a space to older people and needs two people on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively to help facilitate the sessions. Timing is 10-1pm. The opportunity is based at our offices in Tavistock Square.

Volunteers ensure the space is set up for the session and are available to respond to queries and requests for help as they arise.

Drama School Assistant

Great opportunity to work with young people (ages 4 - 18) from across the capital who are exploring the performing arts for both career and life skills. You will work as part of a small team of people who are passionate about the arts. Support our teachers, admin staff and students, while developing valuable transferable skills such as leadership and coaching. We are looking for help at our four branches across London, where we run classes on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.

Learning Mentor

CARIS Camden Families is a small charity that supports homeless families living in hostels in the Borough of Camden in central London. We offer a range of play and learning opportunities to children resident in Camden hostels, to try and mitigate some of the disadvantage that comes with living in overcrowded, under-resourced and insecure accommodation.

Dementia Wellbeing Assistant

Do you like the idea of spending time with and supporting older people?

Age UK Camden provides services and support to older people in Camden borough.

Dementia Wellbeing Assistants engage with people in their homes and in the community providing invaluable practical and emotional support, that helps keep them engaged with the community and their interests.

This role will suit someone who has 1-2 hours a week (excluding travel) during the day, and can commit for up to 12 months.

Services Volunteer

Our volunteer roles offer support, information and guidance to people affected by mental illness:

Adult Literacy Project

Organisation: 

Training Link needs enthusiastic volunteers to be literacy tutors once a week for about an hour for at least 3 months. Our project helps learners develop their reading, writing, spelling and grammar. Volunteer tutors meet their learner weekly: time and venue to be agreed (not in someone’s home).

We pay reasonable travel expenses and provide materials. Support for volunteers: review meetings and guidance on teaching materials.

No previous mentoring or tutoring experience necessary, just be patient, supportive and positive.

Volunteer Learning Party Facilitator

We are looking for UCL volunteers to support staff and volunteers activities. As a Volunteer Learning Party Facilitator you will deliver creative activities that support children’s development and foster learning through art and play. You will be working with Latin American children (mainly Spanish-speakers) aged 5-12 years old, who have recently migrated to the UK and are not yet in school or have only just started. As a result they speak little to no English.

Volunteer ESOL Teacher (13-20 years)

We are looking for motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

As an ESOL teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative and interactive ESOL classes for up to 10 children aged 13-20 years old. Most of the young people that attend our ESOL classes are Spanish/ Portuguese speakers who have recently arrived in the UK from Spain or Latin America and as a result, do yet have a place in school or work employment and have little to no English language skills.

Volunteer ESOL Teacher (5-12 years)

We are looking for motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

• A strong interest in working with and engaging children

• A genuine desire to support vulnerable migrants

• Some basic awareness of the issues facing migrants in UK

• Experience of working with vulnerable people in a similar capacity, either paid or unpaid (desirable)

• Experience working with children in school or educational setting, i.e. Teaching Assist

Volunteer Bilingual Homework Facilitator

We are looking for a motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

Wild East Schools Project Volunteer

Could you inspire young people to learn through nature?

Our Wild Schools project enables children to explore the curriculum in the beautiful outdoor setting of West Ham Park which maximises their learning experience.

Our volunteers guide and support groups of children with learning activities.

Sessions take place all-year’round during term-time on weekdays and last approximately 3 hours.

Wild East Project Volunteer

Do you enjoy working with community groups and children?

Our Wild East project connects people all ages with the hidden nature and history of two well-loved green spaces in East London.

Volunteers engage with families and community groups in a variety of outdoor activities; they will use their creativity to find new ways to engage with the public and will support individual and small groups in discovering wildlife, habitats and the history of these two remarkable places.

Conference Assistant Volunteer

One Housing provides high quality homes and care. A key area of our work is supporting people who are homeless, living on temporary accommodation or at the risk of becoming homeless. We believe in a holis-tic approach to homelessness that helps people get back on their feet again by developing their aspira-tions, confidence and employment skills.
