Age UK Camden, Care Navigator service is looking for a friendly, social volunteer to help and support a client collate and format the memoir they are writing.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone to a close up experience of what is involved in making a piece of writing ready for publication and may interest those studying creative writing or journalism The book is set in the Middle East between 1956-61. The writer is a teacher and has had academic books published.

Visits are made at a time that suits both parties until the task is complete.

Friday Night Disco for Learning Disabilities Helper

Organisation: 

Centre 404 is the place to be on a Friday night. Each Friday we host a disco for around 70 adults with learning disabilities. The live DJ and disco ball make the atmosphere amazing! We are looking for volunteers who are willing to come out fortnightly to help collect entrance fees at the door, monitor the tuck shop, and give water to those dancing the night away. Great fun!

Assisting Event Coordinating Volunteer

Exciting new volunteer opportunity! We are looking for a volunteer who would be willing to be the right hand to the event planner for our Charity. The volunteer would be involved in the creative planning and execution of our fundraising events and Annual General Meeting. Tasks include helping establish and build corporate relationships, compiling invite list, securing supplies, setting up event, and helping overseas the event itself. Garden Buddy Volunteer

Volunteers needed to help buddy our adult volunteers with mild to moderate learning disabilities in the garden. No gardening skills required! The group of around 10 meet weekly to do light gardening work (weeding, watering, etc.) for an hour and then have an hour tea break to chat. Receive the therapeutic value of being outdoors while reaping the mental benefits of volunteering by giving back and making new friends!

Digital Debt Advisor Volunteer

The Digital Debt Advisor volunteers will work as part of our Debt Intervention Service Team which supports vulnerable older people in Westminster who are struggling to manage their debts or are at a high risk of falling into debt.

Volunteers will provide further support to our service users by training them on how to use online services such as online banking and shopping, and also on money management apps. This support is provided through our weekly debt advice drop-in surgery and by carrying out home visits to Westminster residents aged 50 and above.

After School Club volunteer

Salusbury World is a charity that supports refugee and migrant children and families in North West London.

We need play volunteers for our after-school club for children aged 4-11. Volunteers assist with organising materials, supervising the children, and participating in creative/sporting activities. We are looking for volunteers who can commit for at least one school term, for one session a week.

Winter Night Shelter Volunteer

We are currently looking for volunteers to commit to overnight shifts at the Winter Night Shelter when it opens in November 2018. Shift times are 9:30pm – 7:30am. People are often hesitant to sign up to this shift due to the commitment of being away from home overnight, and whilst this is completely understandable, it is an easy and often very rewarding shift, that is well suited to couples, students and those who work 9-5pm in the Camden area. You are permitted to sleep during the shift, are welcome to join us for a freshly cooked evening meal, and have breakfast in the morning.

We are looking to increase the number of volunteers supporting our Can Doers, and this role will enable us to get more volunteers involved.

Gardening volunteers

The gardens at the RFH have recently been transformed by local resident volunteers, supported by the Royal Free Charity.

The space is an ongoing gardening project and the charity is looking for volunteers. You don’t have to know anything about gardening – just be supportive of working with a lovely group of people who all bring something different to the project.

The gardeners meet every Saturday morning and some volunteers spend time on the garden during the week – there’s always something to do.

An IT whizz is needed to help our very busy hospital Chaplaincy-Spiritual Care You will volunteer closely with the chaplaincy team and help with basic admin and IT support.

The Chaplaincy-Spiritual Care team is there for everyone. A multi-faith, multi denominational team who offer spiritual, religious and pastoral care to patients, staff, visitors and volunteers.

You do not have to think of yourself as religious to make use of our service. Some people may value the opportunity to talk to someone about how they are feeling and the changes they may be facing.
