Football Project Volunteer

As a football project volunteer you will assist and support the delivery of new football coaching programme for young refugees and asylum seekers on Mondays, 5.30-7pm. You will be a key support in organising sessions, communicating any changes with beneficiaries, keeping the register and signposting young people to other services available at CARAS.

Come and play!

Every Saturday the adventure playground at our community centre for disabled people hosts children and young people and their families to in a range of inclusive play opportunities, from zipping down the zip wire, making dens, trying out our cycle rickshaw (hard work) or toasting marshmallows on the bonfire. We need volunteers to help make sessions friendly, fun safe (eg we can only build a bonfire when we have enough adults to ensure its safety).

You will help young people develop the knowledge and connections required to be able to make confident and informed decisions about their next steps. There is also loads of opportunity to develop your mentoring and communication skills and experience working directly with young people.

Fundraising Communications and Media

We are seeking a talented and passionate individual who wants to build on their communications and marketing experience. The role will be assisting the Fundraising team with all comms-based support, including social media, newsletters, photography and website support. Opportunity for training and experience on a wealth of systems from Raiser’s Edge database, MS Packages (Word/Excel), to Google Analytics and AdWords to experience using website CMS platforms and advanced social media management.

Shop Volunteer (Finchley)

We rely solely on volunteers to run our charity shops and they are vital to ensure supporters are cared for when donating items, customers receive excellent service and we generate maximum revenue for the Hospice. War Child UK feels strongly that young people who themselves have been affected by conflict, are the best advocates for their peers still living in war zones. Peggy Jay - Drop-in centre supervisor

We are looking for a group of 10 volunteers to run our Peggy Jay Drop In centre and booked parties at the weekends. People with a current DBS is beneficial (otherwise we will do the checks for you) and experience with young children. We are currently expanding our activity slots so experience leading workshops/activities will also help. You will be the face of the centre, taking cash and card payments on arrival, making refreshments and tidying up when the centre closes.

Eye Heroes is the UK’s first child-led campaign to fight avoidable blindness. Children are trained through volunteer-led interactive workshops to become eye health champions and inform adults in their communities about eye health and the benefits of regular eye tests. We are looking for volunteers to conduct one-hour workshops with children aged 8 – 12 years old in schools and after-school clubs.

Musical volunteer

The Royal Free Charity, which works across three hospitals to make every patient’s experience the best it can be, is looking for musical volunteers to play regularly on the wards as part of its new Arts in Hospitals programme. As part of Arts in Hospitals you will play a role in improving patient experience, health and wellbeing, and providing a welcome distraction to visiting friends and family.

End PJ Paralysis project volunteer

End PJ Paralysis in a national incentive, which is being piloted on an elderly care ward. We are looking for volunteers to help with this exciting project. Volunteers would act in encouraging patients to sit out of bed, get dressed, and possibly go for a walk (if able). All this would contribute to the patient’s well-being & therefore aid the patient in being discharged from hospital. Anyone interested in a career in Physiotherapy may well find this role of interest.
