Dementia Wellbeing Assistant

Age UK Camden provides services and support to older people in Camden borough.

Dementia Wellbeing Assistants engage with people in their homes and in the community providing invaluable practical and emotional support, that helps keep them engaged with the community and their interests.

This role will suit someone who has 1-2 hours a week (excluding travel) during the day, and can commit for up to 12 months.

* Being part of cheering squads for our amazing runners and cyclists at events

* Helping at organised community events like Pride marches and our Carol Services

* Organising events in your community like bucket collections, bake sales or concerts

Major Gifts Volunteer

What you’d be doing

* Supporting our Major Gifts Team with administrative duties, including keeping our database up to date and writing content for letters/promotional materials and our website

* Helping at organised VIP events like our Carol Service and Fundraising Dinner, as well as our Corporate Volunteering Days

Qualities/Experience/Skills needed

* Previous fundraising experience isn’t essential

* Confident communicator, both verbally and written, with an eye for detail

Services Volunteer

Adult Literacy Project

Organisation: 

Training Link needs enthusiastic volunteers to be literacy tutors once a week for about an hour for at least 3 months. Our project helps learners develop their reading, writing, spelling and grammar. Volunteer tutors meet their learner weekly: time and venue to be agreed (not in someone’s home).

We pay reasonable travel expenses and provide materials. Support for volunteers: review meetings and guidance on teaching materials.

No previous mentoring or tutoring experience necessary, just be patient, supportive and positive.

Volunteer Learning Party Facilitator

We are looking for UCL volunteers to support staff and volunteers activities. As a Volunteer Learning Party Facilitator you will deliver creative activities that support children’s development and foster learning through art and play. You will be working with Latin American children (mainly Spanish-speakers) aged 5-12 years old, who have recently migrated to the UK and are not yet in school or have only just started. As a result they speak little to no English.

Volunteer ESOL Teacher (13-20 years)

We are looking for motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

As an ESOL teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative and interactive ESOL classes for up to 10 children aged 13-20 years old. Most of the young people that attend our ESOL classes are Spanish/ Portuguese speakers who have recently arrived in the UK from Spain or Latin America and as a result, do yet have a place in school or work employment and have little to no English language skills.

Volunteer ESOL Teacher (5-12 years)

We are looking for motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

• A strong interest in working with and engaging children

• A genuine desire to support vulnerable migrants

• Some basic awareness of the issues facing migrants in UK

• Experience of working with vulnerable people in a similar capacity, either paid or unpaid (desirable)

• Experience working with children in school or educational setting, i.e. Teaching Assist

Volunteer Bilingual Homework Facilitator

We are looking for a motivated and caring UCL students with an interest in supporting children from the Latin American community.

- A strong interest in working with and engaging children

- A genuine desire to support vulnerable migrants

- A willingness to learn from others’ experiences and improve

- A commitment to empowering and enabling others

- Some basic awareness of the issues facing migrants in UK

- Experience of working independently and using your own initiative

Wild East Schools Project Volunteer

Could you inspire young people to learn through nature?

Our Wild Schools project enables children to explore the curriculum in the beautiful outdoor setting of West Ham Park which maximises their learning experience.

Our volunteers guide and support groups of children with learning activities.

Sessions take place all-year’round during term-time on weekdays and last approximately 3 hours.

Wild East Project Volunteer

Do you enjoy working with community groups and children?

Our Wild East project connects people all ages with the hidden nature and history of two well-loved green spaces in East London.

Volunteers engage with families and community groups in a variety of outdoor activities; they will use their creativity to find new ways to engage with the public and will support individual and small groups in discovering wildlife, habitats and the history of these two remarkable places.

Conference Assistant Volunteer

One Housing provides high quality homes and care. A key area of our work is supporting people who are homeless, living on temporary accommodation or at the risk of becoming homeless.
