We are looking for volunteers to join the busy team of gardeners at Kenwood House and Estate to assist with the presentation and maintenance of the garden.

As a member of the garden team you will:

• Carry out horticultural tasks as required by members of the Gardens Team e.g. weeding, pruning, planting, irrigation, path sweeping, grass-edging and sowing

• Develop an understanding of the history of the garden and the significance of the plants and planting schemes

• Answer questions from visitors accurately and with confidence

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic volunteers aged 16-21 to assist English Heritage in creating a ‘Youth Brand’ to use across the three year and work with the Project Manager to create a ‘big event’ at the end of the year.

You will have the chance to shape a national project, develop and share creative and digital skills, gain great experience to include in your CV and obtain Training and Volunteering Certificates to show to employers and education providers.

Our learning team volunteers bring history to life for visitors to Kenwood House. We need your help to support and lead activity sessions for children, young families and school groups.

Are you interested in gaining some new skills and meeting new people in one of London’s hidden gems’ Kenwood House is set on the edge of Hampstead Heath and surrounded by tranquil landscaped gardens. The House enjoys breath-taking interiors, a stunning art collection and period gardens which are free to the public to enjoy.

Outdoor Explainer Volunteer

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support the outdoor team at Kenwood House in ensuring all visitors have an enjoyable and safe visit.

Based outside, in the immediate vicinity of Kenwood House you will:

• Provide a physical presence to all those using the grounds closest to Kenwood House, helping to preserve and protect the building and the Estate

• Be a friendly point of contact to those outside, answering questions and providing directions to parts of the estate
