Triangle Community Services - The Stroke Project

Triangle Community Services is a registered charity providing domiciliary care services, end of life services and specialist services for dementia and stroke. The Stroke Project provides community based support to people affected by stroke through our outreach 1:1 support, support groups and exercise classes. Our main volunteering roles are: Support Groups Volunteer and Admin, Marketing and Publicity Volunteer.

Our stroke survivors groups are looking for volunteers to support them achieve their goals! From supporting our exercise classes and facilitating peer support to running activities and accompanying on group outings, our project offers many opportunities to gain skills in community work whilst providing invaluable support to people in need. You will join one of our weekly groups in Hackney and work together with stroke survivors alongside our staff and volunteers to help them achieve better health and well-being. Training provided.

Role Aim: 

To support our stroke survivors groups, from assisting our exercise classes to social groups, including assisting with activities, tea/ coffee and outings, enabling stroke survivors to be more independent and achieve better health and well-being.


Join a weekly stroke survivors group and help with the running of the group, including room set up and refreshments, helping create and run activities and go along on outings.

Skills needed: 

Commitment and enthusiasm and an interest in supporting people with varying needs.


Half day of training plus induction and shadowing.

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week
Opening times: 
Mon – Fri, groups run on most days between 1 and 4pm or 1am and 1pm.
