About the organisation

Target Ovarian Cancer

One in 50 women will develop ovarian cancer in their lifetime and ovarian cancer faces chronic underfunding compared with other cancers. Awareness is low, both among women and GPs, with two thirds of women diagnosed once the cancer has already spread. At Target Ovarian Cancer we work to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer. We’re the only charity fighting ovarian cancer on all three of these fronts, across all four nations of the UK.

Target Ovarian Cancer offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities with our fundraising team. Whether you can only commit to a one-off event or want to help us with something more long-term, your time will allow us to support more women living with ovarian cancer. We have opportunity for office-based volunteers to support the community fundraising team in the successful delivery of our flagship campaign, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month taking place March. We also have regular opportunities to help us with station collections around London, which is a great way to make a couple of free hours really count. Just two hours of your time could pay for half a day of medical research into new treatments for ovarian cancer. You could also be helping out at one of our fundraising events, such as The Ovarian Cancer Walk or helping to deliver campaigns including Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and November Nights.

We are seeking up to three enthusiastic and committed office-based volunteers to support the community fundraising team in the successful delivery of our flagship campaign, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

This is a varied role which will include assisting the team with research, helping to monitor the charity’s social media channels, processing fundraising materials requests, stock monitoring, data input and analysis. You will also have the opportunity to work with the events team to gain knowledge of challenge events.

You will gain frontline fundraising experience, gaining knowledge of a widely used charity database, research skills, and invaluable charity-based office work experience.

Target Ovarian Cancer is the national ovarian cancer charity working to save lives and help women diagnosed live their lives to the full, wherever they are in the UK.
