Give Opportunity Global

Give Opportunity Global is a charity registered in England and Wales with the objective of empowering and supporting the poor in East Africa to access education, basic healthcare, clean water and microfinance.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for Fundraising Manager roles to assist with fundraising and working closely with executive team to raise vital funds to support our ‘Build a School and Women Economic Empowerment Projects’ in Africa

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience whilst contributing to life changing projects helping children to access education and empower women and youth with capital to start small businesses to generate income and break poverty cycle

No prior experience is required although fundraising experience is advantageous

Role Aim: 

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for Fundraising Manager roles. The role will support fundraising and business development activities.

Working closely with executive team, you will help us raise funds we need to support our ‘build a school and women economic empowerment projects.

This is a great opportunity which will give you invaluable hands-on experience of communication, business development, fundraising and customer engagement.

In addition, you will gain key skills in critical thinking, creativity, coordinating with others, people management, problem solving, negotiation, emotion intelligence and decision making.

Duties: 

• You will engage in conversations with members of the public and inspire people to sponsor the charity through a direct debit donations or one-off support.

• You will be approaching individuals, schools, universities, shops and commercial organisations for sponsorship and donations.

• Organising and helping with traditional fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events, raffles, house-to-house and street collections.

• Working closely with the executive team to develop new fundraising opportunities to support our charity projects

• Assisting other members of fundraising team as may be required.

• Liaise with executive team to plan and implement fundraising projects.

• Meet with executive team for work review and updates.

Skills needed: 

• Have good communication, presentation, interpersonal skills and good work ethic

• Some experience of fundraising is advantageous or willingness to learn fast to carry out the duties mentioned above.

• Outgoing, energetic, passionate, friendly, a good communicator and have a natural charisma but most of all want to make a difference.

• Be creative, engaging and persuasive.

• Be able to work from their own initiative and follow instructions from executive team

• Be organised, reliable and committed

• Be innovative and can-do attitude

• Love outdoors and meeting new people especially in summer time.

Training: 

Use of MS Office training will be offered if required and fundraising training will be offered depending on volunteer’s level of competence.

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week

We are mindful of students’ study demands, we are flexible and can negotiate convenient time
