About the organisation

Royal Free Charity

The vision of the charity is that every patient’s experience is the best it can be. From the initial referral from the GP to discharge from hospital we aim to make the journey as supportive and comfortable as possible. Our volunteers offer a friendly smile, a cup of tea, something from the shop trolley, a library book, an errand done or a good chat to help them on their way. Everyone’s needs are different and there are volunteering opportunities for all, including non-clinical roles.

End PJ Paralysis in a national incentive, which is being piloted on an elderly care ward. We are looking for volunteers to help with this exciting project. Volunteers would act in encouraging patients to sit out of bed, get dressed, and possibly go for a walk (if able). All this would contribute to the patient’s well-being & therefore aid the patient in being discharged from hospital. Anyone interested in a career in Physiotherapy may well find this role of interest.
