About the organisation

The Choir with No Name

The Choir with No Name (CWNN) runs choirs for people who have experienced homelessness and marginalisation. Our mission is to enable as many homeless and marginalised people as possible to beat loneliness and build their confidence and skills through singing. We support members to make friends, learn new life skills, improve their mental health, confidence and wellbeing, and get back on their feet. Whether they have been homeless, have a mental health problem or are otherwise struggling, we give them a safe, positive and supportive environment in which to sing away their worries, have fun and flourish as individuals. We run weekly rehearsals followed by a free hot meal, 48 weeks of the year and currently have choirs in London, Liverpool, Birmingham and Brighton.

Application deadline:

Central London has the highest number of rough sleepers in the UK, so our choir community for homeless people in the city is needed now more than ever. We offer a safe place where members can make friends, grow in confidence and get their lives back on track.

We’re looking for inspirational, creative, energetic individuals to join first ever CWNN London Events Team, with the aim of hosting public gigs and fundraising events to raise awareness of the work we do, as well as raising money to support the London choir along the way!

Role Aim:

The CWNN Events Team Members will be involved in a whole host of things, but the main aspect of the role is to work with the Team Leader as part of a creative and energetic team of volunteers, organising public events throughout the year, with the ultimate aim of raising money to support our London choir for homeless people. As a choir, music is obviously our ‘thing’ so a simple starting point would be to organise events that involve music and singing of some kind. A battle of the bands or X-factor style talent show, a karaoke marathon, a choral flash mob, even sing-a-grams around campus! The possibilities are endless, and fun! Add some charity bucket shaking and some ticket sales in there and bobs your uncle – you’ve got yourself an amazing, fundraising CWNN London events team!
