Newlon Fusion

At Newlon Fusion, we provide community development support and services to residents of Newlon Housing Trust and members of the wider community. Our team works to reinvigorate neighbourhoods to create places where people want to live. Working across Islington and Tower Hamlets, we run two community hubs from Barnsbury and Poplar, we also partner with funders, corporations, local authorities and community groups to launch projects that bring change.

Energetic, confident and outgoing individuals needed to be the front line faces of Newlon Fusions Barnsbury Community Centre.

We at Newlon Fusion work to engage with local communities through various projects to increase quality of life and create place where people want to live. We need your assistance in getting the word out and get people excited as well as involved our projects.. Working at grassroots level within our communities allows those in this position to directly influence behaviour and choices relating to the project we run.

With your support we can bring about real change. As a Community Outreach Volunteer you will help with community and project related promotional activities.

We require a 3 month commitment and attendance at least once week min 3hrs.

The role is perfect for those who wish to make a difference in the lives of people at a community level or gain more direct marketing experience.

Role Aim: 

Work as the front line faces to promote community development and engagement project overseen by Newlon fusion and Barnsbury Community Centre.

Duties: 

Duties will include:

> Engaging with local residents.

> Liaising with local business and centres.

> Door knocking.

> Leaflet and flyer distribution.

> Research & Data gathering.

Other duties may include social media outreach through blogging, tweeting and Facebook.

Skills needed: 

Confident/ out going.

> Personable.

> Strong communication skills.

> Not afraid to speak to the general public.

> Calm and Attentive

> Team Player

> Able to manage workload and proactive.

> Uses initiative and innovative.

> Experience and knowledge in social media is desirable but not essential.

Training: 

Relevant training will be provided.

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week
Opening times: 
Monday - Thursday
