Multimedia Volunteer

We are looking to recruit a Multimedia Volunteer. As a Multimedia Volunteer you will be helping out with our audio-visual production process and assisting on photo and/or video shoots.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

We are seeking volunteers to assist us deliver our communications programme. The purpose of the role is to help us tell the ECHO story. Opportunity: Article Writer

Good News Shared, a new not-for-profit online platform featuring positive news stories is looking for writers to contribute articles about the wonderful things people and organisations are up to. The voluntary role will involve contacting local charities and social enterprises to let them know about Good News Shared, and to create interesting content from the information they provide. Volunteers are required to spend a minimum of 4 hours a week on researching and writing content, and to commit to a minimum of 2 months. This is a flexible, home-based opportunity, so you will be able to work the hours you want from wherever you want. You will need to have excellent writing skills, be self-motivated, creative, curious, and have good communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in journalism, creative writing, marketing, or within the voluntary sector. The Employment, Training and Welfare Rights Team (ETWR) helps our clients find employment. We recognise that our clients are often far from the labour market and so we help them at every stage of their journey back to work.

The ETWR team plays host to 20 computers for clients to access. As well as using these to apply for jobs and training opportunities, we also allow clients to surf the web, contact their friends and family through social media/email and stay digitally connected.

Media Officers will join the Media Team and contribute to the drafting of the posts on different Social Media Platforms, the photographing, recording and editing of videos during the DIY workshops (funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering) as well as different festivals.

No strong experience required in this field, motivation and willingness to learn are key.

Opportunity: Ramblers London Press and Radio volunteer

London has a host of media, both local and London-wide, including Time Out and The Standard, BBC Radio London, Capital and local radio stations. Ramblers and walking are not widely featured in any of this media at the moment.

The purpose of this volunteer role is to try and place walking and Ramblers content in some of these publications/ on some of these programmes - be it news items about walking festivals such as the Ramblers’ annual Festival of Winter Walks, people-focused stories about the benefits of walking to health / mental health, pieces about the great places to walk London has to offer, or engaging in the debate around improving the lot of pedestrians through the letters’ pages.

Other Ramblers volunteers will be on hand to support you with news, expertise and ideas from the 25 groups across London and campaigning activity. The London Press and radio volunteer will have the autonomy and flexibility to pursue what interests them about walking and Ramblers in London.
