Opportunity: Euston Station Christmas Bucket Collection

We would like to invite you to come along and collect at Euston Station on Saturday 7 December for Solving Kids’ Cancer! You will be working alongside other fantastic volunteers and it is a really fun, heart-warming way to help us raise vital funds for children with cancer this Christmas.

All volunteers will receive a free branded Solving Kids’ Cancer t-shirt, the opportunity to make new friends and meet like-minded people, the chance to build self confidence and a Santa hat to wear on the day (if they would like one!)

It’s so easy to get involved and Solving Kids’ Cancer will be on hand to support you every step of the way.


Opportunity: London Santa Dash

Our fabulously festive fun run, London Santa Dash, is back for a fifth year running! On Sunday 8 December we will be taking over Brockwell Park with 3000 Santas dashing, prancing, and wheeling around our snowy 5k or 10k route. All the money raised through this event will be funding cross departmental efforts at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Opportunity: Santa Run

Action on Hearing Loss are looking for volunteers to help out at the Santa Run in Victoria Park London. This iconic event brings in thousands of runners each year. Come along and enjoy the exciting atmosphere, while raising awareness for Action on Hearing Loss.

We need volunteers to add to the fun atmosphere, and to motivate our fantastic runners! If you can spare a few hours on the day, then please do get in touch.

Help raise funds and awareness for Target Ovarian Cancer! We are currently looking for volunteers to join us as carol singers at our Christmas collection.

Just two hours of your time could raise enough to pay for half a day of medical research into new treatments for ovarian cancer. So, if you want to make a difference this Christmas, get in touch and join Team Target!

Opportunity: Christmas Carols at Trafalgar Square

We are putting together a choir with more than 30 people to join us for 1 hour of Christmas Carols under the magnificent Christmas Tree at Trafalgar Square.
Whether you can sing or not - this evening all that will matter is the good spirit and willingness to be part of something special. Because yes, it will be special. Bring your friends along and join us while we sing all the well-known Christmas songs and who knows, you might even learn a new one. The evening is part of the fundraising event where RSBC will be collecting donations to help with the work they do - supporting blind and partially sighted children and young people in their every day life.


Opportunity: Spirit of Christmas volunteer

We are currently looking for volunteers to help at our annual Spirit of Christmas carol service. The spirit of Christmas takes place on Thursday 12 December in Sloane Square. The NHS choir will be performing and there will be lots of mince pies!

The evening made £10, 000 last year and we’re aiming to raise even more this year, donations made on the night will be doubled by the UK Government and so will go twice as far to helping children with cancer.

Our Xmas Project
9:30 to 17:30, Fri 27 to Tues 31 December, in North London.
We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers, to join us on our fantastic fun-filled Xmas Social Development Project. Volunteers and our members who have disabilities get to know each other as they take part in fun and challenging workshops including sports & games, arts & crafts, cooking and enjoying a day out in London.


Opportunity: English conversation partners needed for international students

We are looking for English conversation partners to help international students improve their English communication skills. You will be working with international students who are studying at the UCL Centre for Languages & International Education on a 3 or 4 week English language and British culture course. The students are keen to communicate in English and meet UCL students.

The ‘Cultural Exchanges’ will be held on a Wednesday afternoon January to March. You may join just for one time or come to as many as you would like to.


Opportunity: MoonWalk

Event Volunteer Superstars Needed!

Are you a dedicated and organised person, passionate about helping others? Join our night-time party and 2,000 other volunteers at The MoonWalk London on Saturday 16th May 2020 from Clapham Common! Get down and boogie with 15,000 woman and men walking an overnight marathon in decorated bras, raising millions for breast cancer!

We recruit thousands of volunteers to make The MoonWalk a safe and enjoyable event; looking after our walkers at busy crossings, keeping them hydrated and above all giving the encouragement they need to complete their epic challenge.

You could spend your Saturday evening in MoonWalk City, Clapham by joining one of 24 different teams, from around 5pm through to midnight – from litter picking to selling merchandise, registering baggage to handing out volunteer uniforms!

The night time is where the challenge really gets going for our amazing walkers. If you like the nightlife, marshalling or giving out water whilst surrounded by London’s famous landmarks could be for you! Start times vary between 8pm and Midnight, depending on your role, and last on average 8 hours. We can also offer site based roles at MoonWalk City throughout the night. Early finishes can be requested.

Finally, the early morning team take the helm on Sunday 17th May, starting between 5 - 6am until midday. Watching the sunrise against a London skyline is quite a sight to see! This truly is the most testing time for our walkers…whether you join the route or MoonWalk City teams…your kind and motivating words could be all that is needed to get someone across that finish line!

On the night you will be provided with training, a t-shirt, cap and free light refreshments. All roles will develop teamwork and confidence, no matter what you do on the night…so why not bring your friends and family along to share this unique experience!

Chain of Hope Gala Ball 2019

This November we are holding our 17th Gala Ball. The event has grown considerably and we now welcome 600 guests to Old Billingsgate in the City of London. Last year’s event, featuring an explosive performance from Akon, raised over £2 million for our work! We hope to continue our success this year with the help of our incredible partners. The Ball consists of a champagne reception, 3 course dinner, live and silent auctions and celebrity performances.



Opportunity: Festival Stewarding

To give valuable experience to volunteers in event management, organisation and leadership. Volunteer stewards help make the festival happen * from checking tickets, setting up venues for debates and managing the queues and crowds.



London Landmarks Half Marathon

London Landmarks Half Marathon is a 13 mile run taking place on Sunday 24th March.

Mencap have lots of runners raising money to support people with a learning disability.

As part of our cheer squad, you’ll give them that extra support to cross the finish line.

It’s an electric atmosphere where huge crowds gather to support thousands of people running through the streets of London.

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt and refreshments, and can claim travel expenses if needed.

Are you irritated by the excessive amount of litter laying around the streets of London? Do you want to do something to help whilst raising awareness on littering?​

Then this project is for you! As a Green Walker volunteer, you will be joining us to our monthly litter-picking walks. As a team, we will work together to pick up litter around UCL an afternoon every month. You will be briefed before the walks and will be provided with all necessary equipment - so don't worry if you haven't done it before! You will be working with a group of UCL students from all ages. This will be an opportunity to contribute to reduce the high levels of waste in the big city of London in a new, fun way. The walks will also give you the chance to get to know other volunteers that are interested in environmental issues! Refreshments will be provided during breaks and socials will be organised after each walk.
