Holborn Community Association

Holborn Community Association (HCA) is a community anchor organisation based in central London which aims to encourage community integration, increase opportunities for local people and reduce social and economic inequalities in our community. At our three centres we provide activities and services to the residents of Holborn and the surrounding areas. Older Peoples services are based at Millman Street Resource Centre. Sport/fitness and under 5’s play activities are run out of Bedford House. Arts and Crafts take place at 1A-Arts Centre.

Admin Volunteer Needed! By taking on this new role you will play an integral part in supporting the smooth running of our busy and ever-evolving organisation. The services and activities we run in this busy, multi-cultural, inner city area. You will help with a variety of tasks, from helping to design posters to compiling data to meeting and greeting visitors.

A calm manner and flexible approach will be most helpful! If you think this could be you, we’d love to hear from you! Training or coaching for, for example, poster design and updating our website will be provided.

Role Aim: 

To provide administrative support to organisation and the staff team.

Duties: 

Tasks:

• Data entry

• Archiving

• Updating the HCA website

• Answering the phone and greeting visitors

• Photocopying and filing

• Producing posters and flyers using Canva

• Assisting with other routine admin tasks as necessary

Skills needed: 

Skills Required:

• Good IT and typing skills

• Experience of using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel

• Good organisational skills

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• A professional and flexible approach

• Reliable and dependable

Volunteers must also be willing and able to work within HCA’s policies and procedures and to treat all people with dignity and respect.

Training: 

HCA will provide an induction into volunteering for the organisation and the role. Coaching or training will be provided where necessary, for example, on updating the website and using Canva.

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week
Opening times: 
Flexible. We are open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm.
