Here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service, lots of UCL students and staff have been asking us about volunteering they can do during this current situation.

However, with social distancing measures likely to be in place for a while, many of our community partners aren’t able to run their regular volunteering programmes at the moment.

Some organisations and projects are still recruiting though - especially those with online volunteering roles. You can find these on our COVID-19 volunteering directory.

For example, Age UK Kensington & Chelsea  and North London Cares have a range of ways you can support older people remotely, whilst online youth charity The Mix are looking for Digital Connector volunteers.

If you’d like to contribute directly to the response to COVID-19, there are a number of national and local schemes you can register for. We’ve compiled a list of London borough’s COVID-19 volunteering teams and neighbourhood COVID-19 mutual aid groups

You might have your own idea for a community project - if so, we’d love to hear from you.

Before you get involved, please read our guidelines on volunteering safely.

We’re here to help, so if you’ve any questions or suggestions, please do get in touch.

Wherever you are in the world, we hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe.
