The aim of the service is to help improve the lives of people affected by dementia. It does this by providing practical and emotional support to people with a diagnosis of dementia (or who are experiencing memory problems) and their carers.

* To assist the Wellbeing Service co-ordinator to provide assessments and targeted short term interventions, action and support planning, advocacy and pathways to other services, activities programmes, and wellness groups.


Opportunity: Frontline Adult Support Volunteer

You will be supporting in our weekly Adult Service (30+) which is a resource for support, information, encouragement and change. Our members can benefit from services including counselling, legal advice and complementary therapies to workshops on the latest HIV treatment, nutrition advice, managing stress, relationships and wider health issues.

To provide a befriending service for children in the Camden area who have mental and physical disabilities and to provide them with opportunities that they may otherwise not have access to. This also enables parents to have a small amount of respite, so it is for the benefit of the children, parents, and you as volunteers!

Volunteer befrienders offer social contact to older people in the community . People living alone can become very isolated and begin to lose touch with friends and family for many reasons. Complex health problems, anxiety and depression are just some of the issues facing older communities. That’s where you come in! The support and companionship from a volunteer can greatly improve peoples health and emotional well-being! A lot can be learnt from the life experiences of our older populations!
