St John’s Hospice has a successful shop on St John’s Wood High Street which raises thousands of pounds every month for the Hospice. The shop sells second hand clothes, shoes, books, DVD?s, jewellery and bric-a-brac. We need YOU to make it a success!

We are looking for bright enthusiastic volunteers who can bring a smile and warmth to customers shopping in our Charity Shop. Experience in retail is beneficial but not essential.

We rely solely on volunteers to run our charity shops and they are vital to ensure supporters are cared for when donating items, customers receive excellent service and we generate maximum revenue for the Hospice. Each year we aim to fundraise £1.8million a year from voluntary donations alone, so with your help, we will be able to achieve this.

Our busy and successful shop on Camden Road sells entirely donated goods whose profits provide important income for Mind in Camden. It is not part of a national chain and all the income goes to Mind in Camden. The shop is run by a team of volunteers supported by a Shop Manager. Assisting in our Charity Shop

Helping out in our shop could be a great way to get a welcome break from studies and exams, while at the same time knowing that your time is contributing towards raising funds to help deliver services to older people in the borough of Camden. A particular interest in books, film, antiques or clothes could help with us getting best prices for our donations.

Opportunity: Volunteer Retail Assistant

This is a customer service role encompassing all areas of retail. You will be part of the fundraising team, raising funds to support the work of the Cardinal Hume Centre. Last year sales from the Charity Shop raised £47,000!



Charity Information Desk Volunteer

Develop skills including communication and organisation whilst raising funds and awareness for St Mark’s Hospital, a leading specialist bowel disease hospital in Harrow. Interact with patients and staff whilst manning our information desk, raising awareness of the Foundation and what we do, and selling our merchandise!
