Our team of volunteers are a huge part of the Foundling Museum, having being instrumental in establishing the Museum prior to its opening in 2004 and continuing to contribute to its success today. We pride ourselves on welcoming a diverse range of individuals who choose to share their time and expertise with us. The Museum could not function without them.

Major Gifts Volunteer


What you’d be doing

* Supporting our Major Gifts Team with administrative duties, including keeping our database up to date and writing content for letters/promotional materials and our website

* Helping at organised VIP events like our Carol Service and Fundraising Dinner, as well as our Corporate Volunteering Days

Qualities/Experience/Skills needed

* Previous fundraising experience isn’t essential

* Confident communicator, both verbally and written, with an eye for detail

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is keen to get a front line experience of a fast paced fundraising environment, obtain a wide understanding of fundraising and gain valuable transferable skills and experience.

Information & Advice Admin Volunteer


Join our Information & Advice Team to help people find solutions to problems and to connect to the support that they need. The Information service is based at our contact centre and enables adults of all ages to phone or drop in to find ways of resolving problems or to explore opportunities to improve their day to day lives. You will welcome people to the contact centre and direct them accordingly. Booking appointments and sending reminders, responding to information requests and completing research tasks is also part of the role.

Admin Volunteer, Digital Inclusion Team

Interested in gaining administrative skills while also helping to bridge the digital skills gap? The Digital Inclusion programme supports disabled people to access the digital world. We are looking for a volunteer to provide administrative support to the programme’s central team. If you are reliable, organised and are confident with word and excel please get in touch. Tasks include writing up case studies, updating databases and promoting the programme internally in the organisation.

IT Support Volunteer


The London Irish Centre is looking to recruit an IT Support Volunteer to help us with our IT systems and equipment. We are looking for someone to volunteer for one session a week (around 3 hours) during office hours. Experience with planning, installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications is required. As well as



We are looking for volunteers who want to brush up their admin skills by volunteering in our busy public-facing community centre.

St John’s Hospice In-Patient unit requires the support of volunteers to manage its reception desk. Reception volunteers are the first point of contact for all patients, family members and visitors to the Hospice and must be able to communicate in a professional yet caring manner over the telephone and face to face.

The welcome, consideration, respect and guidance the receptionist offers can help ease the anxiety and worry people can feel when coming into the hospice, especially for the first time.

Advice Support Worker

Camden Citizens Advice Bureaux Service (Camden CAB) is a charity that provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to people on their rights and responsibilities. We also collect evidence, and lobby to improve, the policies and practices that adversely affect people’s lives. Camden Citizens Advice is looking for student volunteers to support advisers in the day to day running of the bureau!

ASWs support advisers in the day to day running of the bureau. For example, they:

Welfare Benefit Unit Volunteers


Help Deliver Access to Justice!

We are looking for volunteers to (mainly) assist with our form filling clinic on Wednesdays. We assist people to complete welfare benefit application forms (e.g. for Personal Independence Payments). These forms are long and can be confusing for applicants - who unaided often struggle to complete them to obtain the benefits the law says they should have. We have an excellent success rate and if claims are not successful people can be referred to welfare benefit caseworkers for advice.

Marketing Assistant

Small Charity, Big Aspirations - Be part of the team who are building a bioartificial liver!

We are a medical research charity, based at the Royal Free Hospital Campus of the UCL Medical School. We support research into relieving the suffering of patients with liver disease and the causes and mechanisms of liver disease. Currently our primary initiative is the development of a Bioartificial Liver Machine, which has the potential to prove as important as the kidney dialysis machine.
