Double win in rugby leads UCL to Varsity Series victory

UCLU Women’s and Men’s teams dominated their respective games against King’s College in the final evening of a sporting week, and their triumphs pushed UCLU to become the winners of London Varsity Series 2014, with a score of 8 points to 5. 

UCLU Netball Varsity Team Announced - see them in action this afternoon!

After a fantastic kick off to the London Varsity Series with last night’s Hockey matches, the fun continues at 2pm this afternoon. UCLU and KCLSU’s netball teams will be battling to be crowned the victory at the Somers Town Community Sports Centre, and UCLU is putting forward its best squad:

Bobbie Jackson - Wing Defence/Goal Defence - Vice Captain

King's nudge ahead in the London Varsity

With just five fixtures remaining in this year’s London Varsity Series, all eyes are now turning to the Fencing and Rugby Clubs who have yet to meet King’s. There are a total of 13 fixtures, and so far the score is KCLSU 5 - 4 UCLU.

There is less than a week for everyone to get their London Varsity tickets!  Our teams have been working day and night, rain or shine to prepare for what promise to be some epic matches, so don’t miss out on the sporting event of the year!

The London Varsity Series 2015 is here!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and it’s coming back round again. The annual London Varsity Series is returning with a brand new line up. UCLU will be facing their King’s rivals across 12 sports in world class venues, including the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

UCLU Muay Thai Team Revealed ahead of today's clash

Today sees the first of our London Varsity Series one to one sports kick off. UCLU Muay Thai have been training hard with world class coaches and world Thai boxing champion David Paquette.  A sport that requires nerves of steel, the Muay Thai showdown promises to be intense and full of surprises.  The line up will consist of:

Taekwondo victory narrows Varsity margin

In a nine-fight competition, UCLU Taekwondo overcame King’s winning five fights to their four and adding another point to the Varsity total, narrowing the gap to just one point with four fixtures remaining on Thursday and Friday.

UCLU's Cheerleaders dominate uni teams competition

UCLU’s cheerleading squad, UCU Lightning showed everyone what they were made of at the annual SNF Future Cheer competition last month.  The event is the largest university cheerleading competition in Europe and our teams came away with a fantastic 5 out of 7 trophies. 

Despite being the new kids on the block (the society is only in its third year) UCLU Lightning competed with 13 other university teams to take away two first place, two second place and one third place prize across various team and stunting categories.

Double win for UCLU at the Fencing Varsity

UCL’s very own North and South cloisters played host to the first event of the London Varsity Series - Fencing.

Both Men’s and Women’s fencing teams competed in three events, distinguished by the three weapons: épée, foil and sabre.

The UCLU Water Polo Teams for tonight are announced!
