We have around 1 acre+ of land, which has never been open to the public, and over the coming years we want to explore how to best use this land for the benefit of the local community. However, the land has some contamination issues, which will possibly constrain our choice of uses for the land.
What we want to do, is examine the current contamination levels on this land, and then look at whether and to what extent the contaminants are taken up by plants grown here. This will partly be with pre-existing plants, but we might also choose to plant additional varieties that we wish to test.
Additionally we would like to look at potential ways to decontaminate the ground moving forward, both for the local community, and also local wildlife.
