Students’ Union UCL is an organisation that exists to make more happen. We are the representative body for University College London’s (UCL) students, one of the most diverse student communities in the world.  UCL students have the potential to do anything, and the Union leads an essential role in helping them to achieve things they may have never thought possible. As a charity, we employ over 70 full-time staff and deliver a wide range of services and representative functions for students.

To celebrate our 125th birthday in June 2018 we launched 125 and Beyond, our new strategic plan that will set us on the path to become one of the best students’ unions in the UK, and more importantly a better students’ union for our 40,000+ members. 

We are looking for an external trustee who has graduated from UCL and is part of the alumni community.

You will be a resourceful, determined and committed individual who will help the Board of Trustees to continue to improve the services that we provide for our members.  The right candidate will be a strong communicator and effective leader, will bring the experience of setting strategic direction and will impart their specialist knowledge in at least one of the following fields:

  • Democratic or member-led organisations

  • Financial management

  • Charity leadership

  • Commercial development

  • HR and people management

We welcome applications from the UCL alumni community, in particular those with a strong record of commercial and business development experience.  So long as you have graduated from UCL at least five years ago and not been registered as a student at UCL since then, this is the ideal opportunity for you.
