Duties and Responsibilities

The Digital Developer will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Union bespoke membership system and website http://studentsunionucl.org. Ideally the Digital Developer will also be involved in the ongoing maintenance of the CRM to ensure internal requirements are delivered.

The Digital Developer will be part of a team of 3 full time developers working to the Systems Manager to ensure that future developments are planned, specified and launched to the Unions requirements and deadlines.

Please note that this contract is currently funded until August 2019 in the first instance.

Key Requirements

The post holder must have Knowledge of Linux, preferably CentOS or RHEL, experience configuring and maintaining Linux services such as Apache, MySQL, PHP and compiled PHP extensions, experience maintaining legacy PHP code, experience of PHP 5.3+, PHP7.1 desirable, experience of developing a PHP Framework (eg, Symfony) based application, experience maintaining a website, Experience of developing a PHP Framework (eg, Symfony) based application, experience maintaining a website and creating new sites as required.
