We are a democratic organisation, which means that students set the agenda. Some of the most direct ways this is done is through the General Assembly and Referenda, which all students can get involved in. The General Assembly and Referenda give students the power to direct the officers/Union in what it should be doing and what opinions and actions it should take on important issues.
General Assembly
The General Assembly is where all students come together to discuss important issues to students, education and wider society. This is the largest democratic body of the Students' Union with hundreds of students debating and taking decisions on what their Students' union should be doing.
All students can vote at a General Assembly. The next meeting is taking place on 11 October. You can see the contact details and deadlines for motions here.

Any student can ask to have an issue debated at the General Assembly through a motion,. Referenda
Referenda take place so that students can vote to decide what the Union should do on important issues and areas. Just like a referendum held by the government, a Union referendum is a question put out to all students where you can decide what our collective position is on important issues that require all students to have their say.
A Referendum was called in October 2017, to debate UCL's membership of the National Union of Students, but was not quorate. More information on this Referendum can be found here.
