Over the last year, I’ve got to know this society quite well. It always provided a friendly and relaxed environment, and the people I met were always welcoming. I feel rather grateful for this, and running for President would be my way ‘giving back’, helping the society continue to provide this positive space for the next year.

If elected, I would aim to continue and expand what I see as the societies greatest strengths. A major element of this is communication. Everybody has their own vision of what we should focus on, and only by acknowledging those can we grow in the best way. To facilitate this, I would encourage people to give feedback on the state of the society, and move based on that. This may take the form of deliberation on how to improve well established practices and events, or introducing entirely new ideas. Otherwise, I’d try and keep the society on its current course - a welcoming and multi-faceted space.

I is wise. I is good. I is smart. My goal for the society is to be the best society by being better than all the others.
