Hi, my name is Auguste and I am running for Community Outreach Officer position. Not only does this position require to be initiative but also to be committed to the society. I have shown commitment through 2018/19 academic year by attending most of the events and social gatherings, which gave me an understanding of what is expected from Community Outreach Officer and what kind of events are needed. Additionally, I would try to provide variety of events to make sure that every member of the society has an event that they would like to attend.

I believe that I am suitable for this role due to my previous experiences. During my last two years of high-school I have contributed to a number of celebrations in my school and volunteered in various events in my city (Davis Cup, Vilnius City Fiesta, Gaida festival and etc.) where I gained invaluable experience that can be applied in event organising.

While holding the position of events officer, I had the great fun of organising a variety of events from social pub gatherings to career-related events with accomplished speakers and, hopefully, made this academic year exciting for you. However, I believe that the UCL Baltic Society still has a lot of room to grow and for this reason I would like to lead the organization of Baltic Society’s events for one more year.

With experience of participating in a wide range of societies such as leading a team of 5 people for a student-run project and getting involved with helping social enterprises, I believe I gathered both an understanding of the inner workings of large and very successful UCL societies, and the soft skills required to lead a team and manage demanding commitments and expectations.

If elected, I would aim to:

1. Expand into sports events by participating in London student sports leagues

2. Strengthen the career advisory side of the Baltic society by inviting speakers that are exciting to our members

3. Sustain the same frequency of social events as in this hugely successful academic year

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Lukas
