Ahsana Parammal Vatteri
Hi, I am Ahsana, 3rd year PhD student in Civil Engineering. Being a mother of a toddler, I understand the extra huddles we as student parents and carers go through. With all the happiness and satisfaction this additional responsibility brings to our lives, it also imposes some serious restraints, lack of social time and stressful deadlines for example. Through this role, I aspire to build a strong network within this community of student parents and carers to share, help and care for each other.

In this role, I would strive to address the following:
-facilitate more socializing opportunities including the ones in our care,
-push for better part-time and full-time childcare facility at the university by working alongside the current project of UCL Students Union and
-organize useful expert sessions on wellbeing, financial, parenting and other training aspects for this community.

Above all, I envision creating a space within UCL where you can feel the warmth of a family. I hope you come along with me in this attempt to make our voices heard and our lives easier at UCL!
