Nikita Joji
Hi, my name is Nikita. I am a Postgraduate Student undertaking a Diploma in Medical Education and I am applying for the position of Medical Sciences rep.
I am passionate about education and its impact on our learning. Therefore, I am keen to streamline communication between students and staff regarding module evaluation. I also want to enhance the feedback process to ensure that positive changes are continuously made to the curriculum.
Secondly, I want to facilitate increased solidarity between the Medical Sciences students. This would involve more social events to help integration, both within and between courses. I would endeavour to make these accessible by running socials in different venues across London.
Thirdly, I am keen to ensure that student voices are heard. I aim to develop channels to collect students’ opinions more systematically and effectively. I am also committed to work closely with the Student Staff Consultative Committee to act as an advocate for key issues.
Throughout my surgical training, I have held various leadership posts. I have been the elected as a representative for Core Surgical Trainees for two consecutive years and this was valuable experience in learning how to generate change on management committees. I hope to us these skills to promote proactive communication between staff and students and utilize these transferable skills to collate regular feedback from my colleagues and eloquently articulate their views to the SSCC.
I am a friendly, hard-working and approachable individual and I plan to work with you and the student body to ensure that your voices are heard.
