Morgan Stoner
Why are you standing?:

My name is Morgan Stoner. I am running for Hall Representation at Goldsmid House.

My number one concern is for students to feel safe and secure in their own home. As an international student myself, I understand the importance of having a safe, comfortable home in an unfamiliar city.

Due to construction at Goldsmid, an “alcove” of sorts has been created right by the Goldsmid front entrance. This has led to an increased rough sleeper presence, and unfortunately, drug use. I have spoken to many other residents and we all agree: we cannot tolerate drug use, such as cocaine and heroin, on our front steps.

I already took measures to eradicate this problem. I spoke to UCL accommodation and Robert, the Goldsmid site manager. I filed multiple reports and even filed a complaint with the police regarding harassment taking place on the streets outside Goldsmid.

After my conversations with Goldsmid staff, security guards have been placed at the front of Goldsmid House!

I have already worked to make Goldsmid a safer place for residents to feel comfortable and secure. I will continue to do so as Goldsmid Hall Representative.

Please see my manifesto document for more information!
