All children aged 3 and 4 years old in England are eligible to receive up to 15 hours of free education weekly for 38 weeks within one year.
Some 2 year olds are eligible to obtain free education if student parents are already receiving:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit and have a yearly income less than £16,190
- Support obtained from part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
- The guaranteed part of the State Pension Credit
Starting in September 2014, more children will be able to get free early education if the conditions below are fulfilled:
- You are receiving the Working Tax Credits and earning less than £16,190 per annum
- They have special education requirements
- They are receiving the Disability Living Allowance
