Welcome!
If you don't know what the Slade School of Fine Art is, it is an art school at UCL, based in the quadrangle on the left hand side. Not many students know that it even exists, and this is one of the reasons why we decided to create the society: to build collaborative relationships with other communities and groups within UCL (and outside of UCL, too).
Slade Society was formed in 2020 as a way to build a strong community in and around the Slade. So we are very excited to go into this (in-person!) academic year with student-led activities, workshops, talks and some outstanding exhibitions! The focus on things being student-led we feel is an important one, as there is lots that we can learn from each other that we do not share.
As it is the first year of Slade Society running in-person, it will be a learning experience for all - we will be trying to get a brand new society off of the ground whilst also navigating the pandemic's restrictions. But we hope that the need for our envisioned community culture will help to make it the best it can be.
This society is perfect for anybody interested in: art, working with artists, collaboration, the sharing of knowledge, putting on events, and generally getting to know different people.
