We’re committed to pay all of our student staff 100% of the pay they would have missed out on due to closures as a result of COVID-19, meaning that our student staff will have a guaranteed income until the end of Term 3! We are keeping students in employment and supporting them as much as we can throughout this period of uncertainty.
 
Our student staff are important to us, and for many of our team, the income they receive from the Union is essential for day-to-day living. We are a value-driven organisation, and take our commitment to all of our members seriously.
 
Student staff that can’t undertake their roles remotely will be paid to the same level as if we were open as usual. Where possible we have already transferred student staff to remote working roles, supporting our permanent team with important back-office duties. For some of our student staff, this has meant taking on new challenges and adapting to new ways of working. Their dedication and commitment is making a huge impact on our ability to support all students at UCL during this difficult time.
