Gender Neutral Toilets at the IoE

All IoE toilets to be refurbished and transformed into unisex toilets.

Stopping the use of paper cups at the Union

The Union should plan to ban disposable paper cups in all its outlets and lobby UCL to do the same in all UCL outlets. There'll be a transition period in the first year of the policy whereby china cups and re-usable cups are offered in addition to disposable cups. Thereafter all use of disposable cups should be eliminated.

Publically condemn police brutality in Hong Kong

The Union to publish an open letter on all our digital channels supporting the movement for freedom in Hong Kong. The Union should also allow students to voice their opinions in relation to the protests using the Union's spaces with information about the protests being posted within tin the Union's outlets within three days.

Students to support the UCU Strike

The Union should use their communication and social media channels to encourage postgraduate members of the Union to join UCU, using these channels to encourage all staff and students to support industrial action; to produce and distribute information leaflets explaining the pension and pay disputes; to support and assist (including reasonable financial support) to UCL student groups who are taking part in the strike; and to provide a comprehensive guide on how international students can support the strike and their rights.

Changes to Extenuating Circumstances policy

There should be a more understanding guideline for extenuating circumstances. The current system requires students to complete a demanding form within a week of a serious incident - this is a time constraint and is damaging to the mental and physical health of students that have been affected.

Remove the application processing fee for PhD students

UCL currently charges £80 as a standard application fee for most postgraduate taught courses. Some courses have significantly higher fees. The Union should lobby UCL to remove the application fee.

Supervisory duties of Research Students

There should be a clear policy on the duties and responsibilities of research students and their supervision of UG and PGT students.

Increasing the temperature in lectures

In certain lecture theatres, it's so cold that outside jackets are worn - everyone's coughing and sneezing. Every student is affected by this. We need a suitable learning environment.
