We all love a vintage charity shop – but have you ever thought of volunteering at one?

Octavia Foundation have just opened new shops in Victoria and Kentish Town and are looking for Volunteer Sales Assistants to help with their running.

Their store in Kentish Town has particular charm, as it used to be the iconic Blustons: a shop that had been at the heart of the community’s fashion since the 1930s. With many features of the original store maintained, Octavia Foundation is keeping its roots in vintage fashion alive! BBC Radio London even did a small feature on it, which you can watch here.

A bit about the charity - Octavia Foundation supports people affected by ill health, social isolation, low income or unemployment in central and west London. Here’s what Zahraa, Retail Volunteer Coordinator at the charity, had to say about the benefits of volunteering with them:

“Volunteering in our charity shops presents a fantastic opportunity to make such a difference in our local communities while gaining new skills and experiences.  By volunteering through our charity you can enhance your CV and employment prospects whilst meeting new people from a diverse range of backgrounds. We really value our volunteers, every year we celebrate the fantastic contribution that volunteers make to Octavia at an Awards evening – you can see what we did last year on our website.”
