Following on from a successful trial at Warwick university, UCL student and rugby player, Joe Hearle has been selected to represent England Universities Rugby 7's team. Joe, who plays at fly half for RUMS rugby 1st XV, attended the trial which included 30 players nominated from the BUCS rugby 7's tournaments. Players were observed in drills focusing on passing at speed, followed by conditioned games and 2 formal trial matches. Having impressed, Joe will now be part of the squad that will compete at the Olney 7's on 23rd June which acts as a qualifier for a regional 7's tournament at Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club on 30th June. The English universities squad is also working towards a home nations tournament in 2019.
