Our Fundraising and Ambassador Groups are an integral part of our programme, and give our volunteers an opportunity to promote and support the work of the charity they support.

Fundraising Group comes together to raise money for a cause for a short, finite period of time. The recipient charity does not have to be registered with the Volunteering Service as a partner, but organisations must have a UK charity number and all funds raised must go directly to the charity. We will not support projects where money is raised to fund a challenge or activity carried out by a volunteer. For example, an overseas volunteering trip. If a charity approaches us directly, wanting UCL students to fundraise for them, they will have to register as a partner.

An Ambassador Group is a group of UCL students that works to promote the aims of an external charity, including fundraising and raising awareness of a particular cause and/or campaign. It recruits UCL members to assist with this, and is likely to have a sustained existence for an academic year or more. The external charity must be an existing partner of the Volunteering Service. If you are not sure if the charity is a current partner, please contact us. If you are a charity wishing to set up an ambassador group, please contact our Volunteering Partnerships Manager, Oliver Peachey.

If you are fundraising at UCL, you must apply through us. You must submit your form/request at least two weeks before your planned event.
